How It Works?
Dorm Mom will pick-up your laundry from your dorm room or apartment on schedule, wash, dry and neatly fold them and have it back to you within 48 hours. You have the option to have some or all of your laundry ironed so you look your best at all times. Your laundry would be done by an experienced professional. Having Dorm Mom do your laundry would save you both time and money. The countless hours spent in the laundry room every semester can be chanelled towards something more productive.


What You Need to Do?
All you do is get all your dirty cloths in a Dorm Mom custom laundry bag which you would receive upon sign-up, bring them out to the pickup location for your hall or apartment and pick them up withing 48 hours all cleaned and folded neatly. We would notify you of drop off and pick up times.

Most colleges have free laundry facilties but the wait in line, inconvenience of waiting for laundry to make sure your stuff is not stolen is a waste of time you could use for something else. You would never have to see the school laundry room again, no waiting in line, no fear of your cloths being stolen and you don't have to buy laundry detergents. Laundry detergents are not cheap and to keep clean week after week, you would go through a few over the course of the semester. We would save you all that wait time and in the process and save you some money.

The Laundry Bag
When you sign-up, we would mail out laundry bags depending on your plan selection. If you do not receive a bag before the initial pickup, please use your own bag or a trash bag. The shipping address you provide at sign up is used to mail the bag; ensure this address is able to receive mail if on campus.

Laundry Service Plans
For college students, Dorm Mom offers 3 laundry service plans to suit the needs of various students. The service plans include:


Plan A: Full Semester Plan - 3 Options

Light Option
This plan can hold up to 10 lbs of laundry. To give you an idea, you can fit the following into a Light option weekly:
  • 3 Pair of Jeans
  • 1 Pair of Shorts
  • 2 Button-Down Shirts
  • 5 T-Shirts
  • 9 Pair of Underwears
  • 7 Pair of Socks
  • 1 Towel
  • 1 Set of Sheets
Normal Option
This is our default option and most people would fit into this plan. This plan can hold up to 15 lbs of laundry. You can fit the following into our Normal option weekly:
  • 5 Pair of Jeans
  • 3 Button-Down Shirts
  • 6 T-Shirts
  • 9 Pair of Underwears
  • 8 Pair of Socks
  • 2 Towels
  • 1 Set of Sheets
  • 2 Pair of Shorts
Heavy Option
If you tend to change clothing more often and you are someone that's into sports, working out, etc and needs a lot more laundry done, the Heavy Plan is for you.  The laundry bag can hold up to 25 lbs of clothing. To give you an idea, you can fit the following into a Heavy Option weekly:
  • 7 Pair of Jeans
  • 3 Pair of Shorts
  • 7 T-Shirts
  • 14 Pair of Underwears
  • 6 Button-Down Shirts
  • 16 Pair of Socks
  • 3 Towels
  • 1 Set of Sheets

Plan B: Full Semester Plan - Pay As Needed

For this plan, you pay a one time service fee and we charge you per pound of laundry depending on how often we pick up your laundry. The service plan would be ideal for students who would not need to do laundry as often as Plan A (Weekly) or who would like laundry done more frequently. Dorm Mom would call you weekly to ask to pick up your laundry on a schedule and we would charge you depending on how much load is done. This plan can be cheaper or more expensive than Plan A. Consider your usage while signing up. You can switch plans at anytime and pay the diference.
Some highlights of Plan B include:
  • One time service fee per semester
  • Pay per pound depending on how much load we do
  • No limit on laundry load.
  • Laundry bag can hold up to 4 loads

Plan C: A La carte - Pay As You Go

No service fee. You pay a one time fee for one time service. Availability is not guaranteed. This plan is ideal for emergencies or for students who do not have one of our semester plans.

How Do You Determine a Load of Laundry?
This depends on the laundry service plan you select. For Plan A, your selected option determines how much load you would be doing. For Plan B (Pay as you go) there is no limit on how much load we'll do for you. 


How Many Pounds of Laundry Would I Need?
See the plan description on this page that gives you an idea of what options are available. If you have to do shirts, pants, sheets and towels, we recommend selecting the normal option. If you are a high traffic person, select the Heavy Plan. If you are not sure, select the Pay-As-You-Go plan.


Can I use my Own Laundry Bag?
Unfortunately, you cannot use your own laundry bags. Dorm Mom provides you with specially made laundry bags free of charge to ensure the bags receive special care and properly accounted for. Only the laundry bag you receive from Dorm Mom would be acceptable during pickup.


What If I Needed More Laundry Done After Sign-up?
Simply come on the website, click "My Account" and change your plan. Allow a week to receive any additional bags. You can also call 1-877-478-5332 or send an email to info@dormmom.com to request any change to your laundry account.


Can I Select What Detergent and/or Bleach to Be Used?
Sure, you can tell us what detergent or bleach you would like to be used on your cloths. When you sign up, you are able to select your favorite detergents to get the level of clean and perfumed smell you are accustomed to. If you do not make a selection, we would use the best product out there that gives the best clean.


What Do I do if I Miss an Item of Clothing?
We would ensure that all clothing items we get from you are returned cleaned and neatly folded. In the case something is missing, we would ensure you get it back or your next wash will be free. We would also re-imburse you for the lost item after making sure, the loss was caused by Dorm Mom. We would keep an inventory of each load and make sure everything is returned.


How Do I cancel My Service?
You can cancel at anytime and get a refund of the unused portion of the fees you paid for the service. Refunds are made according to out Refund Policy To cancel, send an email to support@dormmom.com or go to "My Account" on the website and click Cancel Service.


What if I have special clothing that need extra care?
Print out and fill in the Special Care tag on what special care your item of clothing requires and place it on the item before placing in laundry bag. We would ensure adherance to your selection.
